Children and adults with executive function disorders often lead disorganized, chaotic, and emergency-driven lives. We evaluate clients for strategy flexibility, planning, prioritizing, organization of time, organization of materials, and self-monitoring skills, as well as incorporating results from the testing of other professionals. These programs are highly individualized, as they are based on each individual’s unique family, school, and work environments, as well as goals. Typical goals for school-aged clients can include: estimating time to complete homework or projects; planning routine activities; planning complex projects; planning writing assignments; note-taking; and incorporation of self-evaluation into the planning process.
