Auditory Processing

Our programs emphasize the sequencing of sounds within words, processing of complex directions, identification of key words, auditory closure activities, and other methods of improving the brain’s processing of the acoustic signal. We work systematically to solidify skills in quiet as well as background noise. Our clients and families learn how to listen in a more directed manner in order to support classroom learning and social conversation in complex environments with many visual and auditory distractions. Some clients supplement their in-clinic services with home use of the Fast ForWord ® computer program.
