Computerized Learning

Cogmed Working Memory Training ®

Cogmed is a computer-based program that folds current research in attention and cognitive neuroscience into a series of exercises designed to improve the attention issues caused by poor working memory.  There is a significant body of research that shows 80% of users experience improvement in attention following participation.  Cogmed generally requires participation 5 days per week for 5 weeks to achieve these effects.  Training can be conducted for ages preschool through adult.  Please contact us for pricing and information to help determine if you or your child would be a good candidate for the program.  More information can be found at www.cogmed.com.

Fast ForWord ®

Fast ForWord ® is a computer-based program that targets the auditory processing skills that support the acquisition of appropriate literacy, memory, and attention.  It is a systematic set of exercises that begins with an emphasis on phonemic awareness, English grammar, and vocabulary and evolves into direct support of reading.  Please contact us for pricing and information to help determine if your child would be an appropriate candidate for the program.  More information can be found at www.scilearn.com.

Dybuster Calcularis ®

Dybuster Calcularis targets the underlying skills that are underdeveloped in children with a diagnosis of dyscalculia.  Parents purchase their own license and add their therapist onto this license so that we can monitor progress and intervene directly in areas where a child is getting stuck.  Students participate for 15-20 minutes per day 3-4 days per week.  This program is most appropriate for children in 2nd-8th grades, or older students who are functioning at a much lower level of mathematics.  More information can be found at https://dybuster.com/en/calcularis.

Capdots ®

Capdots is an online therapy system for auditory processing disorders.  The child does not participate in games, but they can play with quiet toys while wearing headphones.  Stimuli are presented into the headphones, the child gives an oral response, and the parent records the answer.  This feeds into the program, which then makes the next stimulus either easier or more difficult.  This is appropriate for children ages 5 and up who can participate 30 minutes per day, 5-7 days per week.  More information can be found at http://capdots.com/.
